I hurt my ankle over a month ago and it wasn't feeling better (it was feeling worse...) so my friend convinced me to go get it checked out - problem was it was Saturday afternoon, Kaiser is my provider and I didn't want to wait for hours to be seen. I had found Urgently Ortho on Yelp right after I injured myself so I called them up around 3pm that Saturday to see how soon they could fit me in. Turns out they had a 3:30 appointment, that same day last one of the day, so I hobbled over to get checked out. Liu and Dr. Dickenson were both extremely nice, professional, and the appointment was quick and painless, from check in, to the consult with the doc, to the xrays, and I was home by 4:15 with a copy of my xrays in hand and a positive diagnosis (NOT BROKEN!). Dr. Dickenson went over my xrays with me and recommended physical therapy right away which I am doing now at Kaiser. Overall, it was a great experience, and I would not only consider going to them again especially if it were a weekend or after hours to avoid long wait times at Kaiser, but I'd also recommend them to others. So glad I found these guys!

I work in the medical profession and am very picky about physicians and services. I highly recommend this clinic and this physician. What an amazing service. He addressed my injury quickly and efficiently.

Great Consultative, Patient 1st - Team approach! I contacted the Urgently Ortho team to get a 2nd opinion regarding options after severely injuring my right knee on 12.10.18. The Front Office - The Urgently Ortho team was very friendly, professional and worked quickly to get me an appt. with Dr. Dickinson - taking into account my expedited timeline due to end of year deductibles, holiday travel schedule, etc. and the fact I was being told the only fix was surgery. Amazing that every time I called the office, I was able to immediately speak with a “real” person, not a phone tree response. The front office team (thank you Liu and Megan) followed up when they said they would. This is key to eliminating all the upfront frustration and emotions when a patient is in pain. The Care - Urgently Ortho has “off hours”, so I met with Dr. Dickinson one day after my MRI in the evening on 12.13.18. The whole team was pleasant and had a patient 1st mentality, which was a completely opposite the experience I received at the ER and follow-up appointments at the associated sports clinic. Dr. Dickinson took his time explaining all the variables of the MRI results, and why he was recommending a more conservative approach (i.e. no-surgery). I really felt like he took into account what my quality of life would be like using a more conservative approach (immediate shot, aggressive NSAIDS, and PT) vs. an aggressive approach (surgery), even though the MRI showed a torn meniscus. This was refreshing coming from a surgeon to not recommend surgery as my only option. He and Breiana (PA) answered all my questions and put me at ease since I would prefer more holistic options. I immediately made the decision of no surgery. Very excited to report that after 6 days, my knee is responding to the conservative treatment. I have completed 2 PT sessions and have a plan for the next 2-3 weeks to help my knee heal. I am now walking without a cane and without a brace. My knee is still healing, I approach stairs with caution and the way recommended by my PT, but overall I feel great. So glad I found the Urgently Ortho team!!
